Evil Empire Lacrosse, awards its Player of the Week to Jeff Shattler, of the Calgary Roughnecks, for his hard nose performance in two key Western Division victories this week. Against a highly touted San Jose team the twenty-three year old defenseman lead all scores with an unbelievable 8 points (4g 4a) including the game winner. Only one other defenseman has scored 8 points total all season. He also lead a standout defensive unit against Portland as the Lumberjax were held to just 6 goals. Jeff, a former first round draft choice of the Buffalo Bandits, was name to the Evil Empire Lacrosse All Rookie Team last season following a trade to Calgary along with a 2nd round draft pick in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for Kevin Dostie. Jeff is the third Calgary Roughneck and sixth defender to win Player of the week honors.
